Wega uses a play-to-own model that incentivizes users to become partial owners of the platform through gameplay and governance. Ownership and governance within the Wega platform are embodied through the ownership of non-transferable NFT badges. The Wega play-to-own model consists of four hierarchically ranked badge tiers namely the New Jack, Rolling Rookies, High Rollers, and the highest ranked badge, House of Aces (view Badge tiers image below).
To distribute ownership and decision-making power to Wega platform players Wega makes use of a set of rigorous player participation requirements. Only once a player reaches all requirements of a specific tier, the Wega platform grants them their tier-specific badge. Once obtained certain badges such as the High Roller and the House of Aces badges need to be maintained by consistent gameplay and governance participation if not the Wega platform revokes the holders of these badges.
With this novel play-to-own model, Wega aims to foster a sense of community among its players encouraging players to contribute to the long-term success of the project, ensuring its longevity, and fostering a strong sense of belonging.
*Please be aware that the exact requirement for each tier is still to be tested. Currently, these are drafts *
